How ordering a website from Webbit works
Ordering a website for the first time can feel confusing. What do you have to do yourself, when are you committed, and when do you pay? Here is the whole process at Webbit, step by step, from the first enquiry to a published front page and hosting afterwards.
In short
The table shows the steps in order. Below, we go through each of them.
| Step | What happens | What it costs you |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry | You tell us about your business | Nothing |
| Preview | We build a proposed front page for you to look at | Nothing |
| Approval | You decide whether to go ahead | No cost until you approve. Fixed price: 3 490 kr. |
| Rounds of changes | Two rounds of corrections | Included in the price |
| Publishing | The front page goes live, and the invoice is sent | 3 490 kr, with 14 days to pay |
| Hosting | Six months included | Then 79 kr per month, or your own web host |
1. The enquiry
It all starts when you send an enquiry via Get a preview. There you tell us what the business does, where you are based, and how customers should be able to get in touch. The more specific you are, the closer the preview will land.
It helps to think through these in advance:
- Which jobs, customers or bookings you want more of.
- The area you cover.
- Contact details exactly as they should appear on the page.
- Your logo, if you have one.
- Your own photos. See Photos that build trust for what works.
- Examples of pages you like, ideally from the industry examples.
You don't need to have everything ready. Tell us what is missing rather than waiting. Sending an enquiry does not commit you to anything.
2. The preview
Based on what you have sent, we build a preview of the front page. It is free, and you see it before you have decided anything at all.
Spend a little time on it:
- Open it on your phone, not just on a computer.
- Read the text out loud. Does it sound like you?
- Check whether a new customer would understand what you do, where, and how to get in touch.
If you want a checklist, use the front page check or read Why isn't your website getting enquiries?
3. Approval
If you like the direction, you approve the preview. Only then does a cost arise, and the price is fixed: 3 490 kr. Webbit is not VAT registered.
If you don't like it, you can simply say no. In that case it has cost you nothing.
The price does not change because you ask for corrections within the two rounds of changes.
4. Two rounds of changes
After approval, you have two rounds of changes. In each round you send what you want changed, we make the changes, and you look at the result again.
How to get the most out of the rounds
- Collect all the changes in one message instead of sending them as you think of them.
- Be specific: "Change the phone number to …" or "Use the bathroom photo at the top".
- Send finished text if you want your own wording.
- Involve anyone else who will have an opinion already in the first round.
- Check phone number, email, opening hours and company registration number carefully. Mistakes here have the biggest consequences.
If you want to expand the site later, you'll find add-ons and prices under services and prices.
5. Publishing
Once the changes are in place, we publish the front page. It is worth sorting out the domain early: Do you already have one, or do you need a new one? Read more under domain and email.
Once the site is live, test it yourself. Open it on your phone, tap the phone number and send a message through the contact options. It takes a few minutes and saves you from lost enquiries.
6. Invoice and payment
The invoice arrives after publishing, with 14 days to pay. The amount is the fixed price of 3 490 kr.
In other words, you pay nothing up front, and nothing before you have seen and approved the page.
7. Six months of hosting, and what happens after
Six months of hosting is included in the price. During that period the site stays online without you paying anything extra for hosting.
After six months, you choose: continued hosting with us for 79 kr per month, or moving to your own web host. Read more under web hosting.
Use the first months to make the site visible. If you have a Google Business Profile, it should link to the new site. Read Local visibility for tradespeople for concrete steps.
What we don't promise
It is just as important to know what is not included. A ready-made front page is one page. It is not an online shop or a booking system.
Nor can we promise a certain number of enquiries or a particular ranking on Google. That also depends on things outside the page itself, such as your Business Profile, reviews and the competition where you are based.
The full terms are in the terms of sale. Read them before you approve, and ask us if anything is unclear.
